Great American Tour 2025
Hey, Homegrown Liberty community! I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates about our journey and invite you to be part of something truly special this summer. I recently joined my good friend Jack on his podcast (check out the episode [here](insert podcast link)) to talk about building resilient homesteads, my approach to practical homesteading, and our big plans for a new 40-acre demonstration site in East Texas. This summer, I’m hitting the road for the Great American Tour, and I want YOU to join me in shaping your homestead’s future while helping us build a premier teaching hub for sustainable living.
Our Vision: A Texas Demonstration Site for Resilient Homesteading
Picture this: 40 acres of rolling East Texas hills, a blank canvas where we’re creating a living showcase of practical homesteading systems. This isn’t just a new home for my family—it’s a place where we’ll demonstrate how to design and implement resilient homesteads that save time, money, and effort. From silvopasture and fodder trees to integrated grazing systems and hedgerows, this property will be a hands-on learning center for homesteaders across the country.
Our goal is to show what’s possible when you start with a solid foundation—think efficient fencing, water management, and soil fertility systems that work together seamlessly. We’re already planning swales, overstory carbohydrate drops, and a nursery expansion to grow rare, sustainable plants (check out Rare Plant Store for what we’re growing now). This site will be a place where you can see, touch, and learn from real-world systems, whether you’re starting with a quarter-acre lot or a sprawling ranch.
By signing up for a consultation during the Great American Tour, you’re not just investing in your own homestead—you’re helping us bring this vision to life. Every consult this summer directly supports the development of this teaching hub, making it a reality sooner and benefiting homesteaders for years to come.
Why Consult with Me? Unmatched Value and a Free $400 Class Ticket
I’ve dropped my consulting rates for this summer’s tour to make it accessible for more of you to get personalized, on-site guidance. Whether you’re in North Carolina, Montana, or anywhere in between, I’m planning a route from the East Coast to the Rockies (and possibly the West Coast if demand is there). Here’s why you should jump on this opportunity:
- Save Thousands with Smart Design: I’ve saved clients tens of thousands of dollars by catching costly mistakes early—like poorly placed driveways or inappropriate fencing systems. One client saved $30,000 in 30 minutes by rethinking their property layout. Another avoided a $100,000 fencing mistake with a $20,000 solution that worked better. Your consult will pay for itself many times over.
- Customized, Actionable Solutions: From small urban lots to vast ranches, I tailor every consult to your goals, budget, and land. We’ll walk your property, assess its unique features, and design systems that fit your life—whether it’s water management, plant selection, or livestock integration.
- Free Foundations Class Ticket ($400 Value): Sign up for a consult this summer, and you’ll get a free ticket to my upcoming Homestead Foundational Class (planned for spring/summer 2026, depending on progress). This weekend class, valued at $400, will dive deep into the practical nuts and bolts of homesteading—how to assess your land, avoid type-one errors, and build systems that work. You’ll see our Texas site in its early stages and learn how to apply the same principles to your property.
Consults typically range from $1,400 to $2,000 for a full 8-hour day (half-days available on tour for around $900), depending on travel logistics. If you’re part of a regional group, we can cluster visits to reduce costs and create a networking opportunity—imagine learning from multiple properties in one day! Plus, I’m flexible: if a consult is out of reach, we can arrange a group class where you host, charge attendees, and potentially make a profit while getting your consult.
What You Get from a Consult
When I visit your property, we’ll:
- Tour the land to understand its unique features and your goals.
- Design systems that save time, money, and resources—think efficient access, water capture, or soil fertility plans.
- Mark permanent features like contours or pond locations with tools like my laser level.
- Answer your specific questions, from composting to grafting to livestock management.
- Provide optional add-ons like written reports ($190), video recordings ($290+), or soil testing ($200-$250 per prescription).
Clients often say they’re overwhelmed by the value they get—like Joshua L., who said, “I would have never thought of that… that’s the kind of thing I hired you for!” or Shawna, who credited my water concentration design for “insane production” on her pasture. My goal is to leave you with a clear, actionable plan that prevents costly mistakes and sets you up for long-term success.
